2018 is a banner year for us. We will be 30-years old this year! Our challenge is to chart our destination, prioritize our movements, and align our energies towards fulfilling God’s agenda. In keeping with "seeking simple," 2018 presents to us our theme: Strengthening the Family, Serving the Community, Jesus the Key! The 1st quarter will focus on strengthening the family. In January, the roles of every member of a family unit (husband/father, wife/mother, parents/grandparents, and children) will be explored and applied in the family rubric. In February, the critical need of the family altar (intentional intersection of faith and family) will be the highlight to help develop and equip the next generation with a faith that sticks into their adulthood. March will usher in hard realities of the place of family in the scheme of God’s disciple-making agenda.
The Crux & the Strong Family
Joshua 24:13-28 March 25, 2018 Great leaders have a gift of making complex things simple. Successful people narrow down a variety of competing priorities to a handful. “Only a few things matter,” says Tozer. In the life of faith, there’s really only one thing: serve the LORD together!

Father's Sins & the Strong Family
Numbers 14:11-19 March 11, 2018 The hardest truth we’ll ever face is the truth about ourselves. Because it’s scary and painful we’d rather shield ourselves from it. We don’t grow because we don’t want to get hurt by the truth. Our shields turn into shackles and then spears that harm our kids.

Following Jesus & the Strong Family
Luke 14:25-33 March 4, 2018 A family altar is where faith and family converge. There are times, however, that family and faith collide. Following Christ is challenging due to family expectations and obligations. Can a strong family and radical love for Jesus go together? And what if they don’t?

Solid Identity & the Strong Family
Matthew 3:16-4:11 February 25, 2018 One of the most haunting and pressing questions the young ones ask is “Who am I?” The answer sets the trajectory and direction one will take in life. If God and the Gospel are real, you’re infinitely more than “just another brick in the wall” (Pink Floyd).

The Gospel & the Strong Family
1 Corinthians 15:1-10 February 11, 2018 Evidence suggests that the church is undergoing a “de-conversion” epidemic and is hitting our young people. Our teens observe how little we, their parents, really believe so that they have trouble articulating what Christianity is about. Let’s stop this hemorrhage!

The Jewel & The Strong Family
Select Passages January 14, 2018 “The purpose of biblical womanhood is not for cultural convenience or personal preference... it is to put on display the glory of God, the beauty of Christ” (David Platt). By the grace of God, every Christian wife and mom can reflect the majesty of the gospel.

The Shepherd & The Strong Family
Select Passages January 7, 2018 Role reversals in marriage and family are now the norm in the US. Yet, we adult men, who retain our cultural styles from abroad, have been painted as not having grown up. We have a “bombogenesis” in the family where a rapidly intensifying storm has hit due to the absence of male leadership.
