The heroes and heroines of Scriptures don’t emerge overnight. They come from obscurity more often than not. They are renegade and raw, broken in many ways. The kinds you’ll see more in the dumps rather than the royal courts. Yet they’re the perfect soil for the seed of grace. A profound miracle we behold when God makes whole what’s been broken.
“God uses broken things,” Vance Havner, the great revivalist at the turn of the 20th century, observes when reflecting on unlikely Bible personages who encountered the grace of God. “It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.”
In this series, Brokenness to Wholeness, we will trace the path that Moses, Peter, Job, the adulterous woman, David and Leah trod and in the process, discover how God uses our wounds not to weigh us down, but to make us solid and strong for His greater work and glory.

Of Tents and Regiments (29th Anniversary Message)
Ezekiel 37:1-4 December 3, 2017 Great awakenings do happen. The people of God must be predisposed to it. The glories of the past help in reminding us that God’s at work. But if there will be a re-igniting of our hearts, looking back won’t serve us well. What will it take to spark men’s and women’s hearts for God?

Caught Up in the Flow of Grace
1 Chronicles 29:10-17 November 26, 2017 One of the most dreaded topics preachers face is that of pockets. The wallet may be one of the fiercest battlegrounds this planet has seen. Blood pressure rises, hands sweat at the thought of easing our grasp on our money. Happily, God’s Word gives perspectives and directives to help believers live well.

From Waterboy to Warrior
Exodus 2:1-3:10 November 5, 2017 One of the benefits that comes with growing old is the ability for hindsight. The sum of life’s past poses some discernible patterns that aid us in living a life well spent. The ravages of time beat upon us and leave us bruised and broken. Yet, for those who know the sovereign, wise, and loving God, the journey’s purpose is towards holiness, hopefulness and wholeness.
